Amatan Chronicles
Na and Pa loved learning new things. After learning the basics like fear, hunger, and thirst, they learned love and hate. Then they learned curiosity which was followed by either success or failure. But now they were starting to learn more, like speech!
The first thing that they said were “Na” and “Pa”. These were their names because they were easy to say. This was their first of many uses of communication. Soon they started naming things like the river, the forest, the wolf, and the snake. These were the most important things so far in their lives. The river was their source of water to quench their thirst. The forest was their source of food to vanquish hunger. The wolf was their mentor, and the snake was the evil in their lives. Finally they began making words for things such as rain, water, apple, animal, bug, tree, carrot, log, stick, hand, fingers, eye, and flower.
Soon enough, more learning took place when they were about eight years of age. Pa set out looking for food with wolf in the forest. He was looking specifically for some sweet apples. They passed vines, bushes, and many trees before they came across an apple tree. Pa inspected the apples looking for a red one. He found that he like the red ones more than the no-good brown ones. Pa began to take an apple from the tree when he saw that the sky was turning grey. He knew that when the sky turned grey that it was about to let water fall upon his head. Then he glanced in wolf’s direction, and saw that wolf was sitting under a bush. The bush had grown in a weird way that allowed for wolf to fit under it. When the rain fell, wolf didn’t get wet!
Pa’s mind began to wander as he thought of a way that he could create himself. It was just like the time that he had taken a stick, and drawn a picture of snake in the ground. He did this to show his sister what the evil thing looked like. Maybe he could make something like this as well. He could make a structure to keep his sister, Ma, from getting wet. He knew that she hated getting wet unlike himself. So he ran back to the clearing that he called home, and got to work.
After a day of working on his structure, Pa was finished with his idea! It was a structure with many sticks joining each other in the middle. He He threw many branches of leaves on top to keep the water out. Then another idea struck him! He could also sleep under this in the event of it raining at night. This way he wouldn't be awakened at night! He then though of what to call it. He then thought that maybe he could call it a “house”. He pondered on the idea for a moment. Then he came to his decision. He would call the little structure a “house,” and he would call what he did to make it “work.”
Pa loved “work.” Making this “house” was so much fun he thought. He loved it. This was emotion of fun was a new thing for Pa. He would continue to create new ideas, because creation is the start of everything….
